Under the theme ‘Synergy’, the event aims to bridge the past and the future, domestic and international influences, industry insiders and outsiders, as well as fashion and technology, sustainability, and culture.

The event, kicking off on October 8, promises nearly 100 brand shows, with more than 1,000 brands converging in downtown Shanghai. The event will not only feature fashion shows, but also host themed events focusing on sustainability, women’s empowerment, and cultural heritage.

In particular, Chinese fashion brand Icicle will kick off the event with an opening show on the evening of October 8. On the closing day, October 16, international brand Stella McCartney will present her new works in an Asia-Pacific premiere, accompanied by the grand release of Donottag, a brand managed by Tony Han.

Other event milestones includes the return of Haizhen Wang, who celebrates a decade since their first show at Shanghai Fashion Week, while Comme Moi marks its 10th year of existence. Notably, fashion icon Edison Chen’s brand, Clot, will make its debut at Shanghai Fashion Week, as well.

Meanwhile, veteran designer labels including Private Policy, Staffonly, Judyhua, Tuyue, Hemu, Shie Lyu, Rico Lee, Xuzhi, Shushu/Tong, Wmwm, Nan Knits, Oude Waag, Yirantian, and more will unveil their latest collections from October 9 to the 15.

For the general public, Shanghai Fashion Week will reintroduce the Fashion Carnival section, which includes Shanghai Fashion Weekend, featuring fashionable lifestyle activities at iconic landmarks, including eco-workshops, skateboarding classes, wearable salons, art exhibitions, live music performances, and more.

Beyond fashion, Shanghai Fashion Week actively addresses issues such as sustainability and social welfare. The Kering Group, a global luxury goods giant, will host the third Kering Generation Award Ceremony in the field of sustainability.

The event will partner with Tik Tok to offer a daily uninterrupted live broadcast, connecting online and offline worlds. Moreover, the Shanghai Fashion Week official website will once again open its Metaverse showroom to the public, engaging the audience through virtual reality technology.

For the first time, the event will also collaborate with Joor, a leading online ordering platform, to select nearly ten Chinese independent designer brands through a digitally-driven mechanism, offering efficient and intelligent trade promotion services.
