Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara achieves one lakh sales milestone: Sets new record in segment

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has completed 12 months in the Indian market, and the company has announced that the SUV has achieved the one lakh sales milestone in this period. This makes the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara the fastest mid-size SUV in India to achieve this milestone! This also means that the manufacturer sold over 8,333 units of the Grand Vitara every month since its launch on an average, which is a commendable feat.
The Maruti Suzuki is built on the same platform as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and rivals the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Citroen C3 Aircross, MG Astor, as well as its Toyota cousin. That said, the Hyryder and Grand Vitara are the only two SUVs in this list to offer a strong hybrid powertrain, returning a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 27.97 kmpl – the highest for any car in India!

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is also one of the only two SUVs mentioned above to offer an optional all-wheel drive configuration, offered with its 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Pricing for the Grand Vitara currently starts from Rs 10.70 lakh, going up to Rs 19.99 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom).
