Apple: Apple CEO Tim Cook on why Vision Pro is one of life’s ‘a-ha’ moments

Earlier this year at the WorldWide Developer Conference (WWDC), Apple launched the Vision Pro, its first spatial computing device. Since then there has been a lot of buzz about the product. Although Apple has said that initially Vision Pro will be available — sometime next year — in the US only, developers from all over the world have been working to create apps on it. Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that he has been using it regularly and even finished watching the third season of Ted Lasso, one of Apple TV+ most popular shows. Now, in an interview with The Independent, Cook has shed some more light on Apple’s spatial computing device.

A new era of computing

Cook told the publication that he believes Vision Pro could usher in a new era of computing. It could change the way people communicate or work, very much like the iPhone in 2007.
The Apple CEO said that that Vision Pro has become a part of his routine now and could end up being an “industry-defining” product. Cook said, “There are huge differences in how people look at it, depending on if they’re read about it or actually tried it,” he says. “I believe even more about how profound spatial computing is. When you’ve tried it, it’s an aha moment, and you only have a few of those in a lifetime,” he told The Independent.
Although Apple showcased it, Vision Pro is still in development. It does have the potential to be a revolutionary device that changes the way we interact with computers and the world around us. The Vision Pro has ultra-high-resolution display system with 23 million pixels across two displays. There’s a brand-new R1 chip for real-time view of the world along with advanced Spatial Audio system for immersive sound.
