U.S. sportswear giant Under Armour is set to open its first-ever store in Northern Ireland, as part of the company’s growth plans within Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
Located inside The Boulevard, a major shopping destination in Banbridge, the new Under Armour will span 2,589 square feet, joining fellow international sportswear giants Nike, Adidas, and Asics at the mall.
“Year on year The Boulevard is consistently outperforming its own record-breaking sales figures and is shooting up the league tables against its counterparts across the UK and Ireland. We are excited to welcome Under Armour onboard,” said Chris Nelmes, retail director at The Boulevard.
“The sports and fitness categories have consistently performed well at The Boulevard. It’s something our shoppers want and the arrival of Under Armour will really strengthen our offering.”
The Boulevard is owned by Lotus Property, advised by Johnstone Property Consultants.
Under Armour opened its first European outlet in the Republic of Ireland, at the Kildare Village in Kildare, in 2015, and opened a Brand House store on London’s Oxford Street this July.
In August, the company renewed its partnership with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team, after eight national championships and more than 30 Olympians over the last 10 years.
