Resurfaced video shows a 21-year-old David Beckham giving a house tour of his first home with Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham has spoken for the first time about the alleged “affair” her husband David was accused of having in 2003.

As part of the legendary soccer star’s new Netflix documentary, Beckham, the former Spice Girl described the period as the “most unhappy” she had been in her “entire life”.

In 2003, it was reported that Beckham had struck up a relationship with his personal assistant Rebecca Loos while he was playing in Spain for Real Madrid.

In an interview with Sky, Loos had said Beckham was an “amazing lover” and claimed the pair “couldn’t keep their hands off each other”.

At the time, Beckham called the stories “ludicrous”.

“The simple truth is that I am very happily married. I have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change these facts,” he said in a statement when the allegations arose.

Now he and Victoria are addressing the fallout for the first time.

“It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us. Here’s the thing – we were against each other if I’m being completely honest,” Victoria said in the four-part docuseries.

The former Spice Girl, known in her music days as Posh Spice, appeared moved to tears as she recounted the ordeal.

David also appeared visibly upset by the pain Victoria had faced.

“You know, up until Madrid sometimes it felt like us against everybody else, but we were together, we were connected, we had each other,” Victoria said.

“But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either.

“And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me. It was a nightmare.

“It was an absolute circus and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town right? Unless you’re in it.”

“It was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life.”

David also spoke of how the claims affected the couple’s relationship, admitting there “were some days I thought, ‘How am I going to go to work? How am I going to go on that training pitch and look as if nothing is wrong?”.

“I felt physically sick every day when I opened my eyes. How am I going to do this?”

The docuseries’ director Fisher Stevens has opened up about how they managed the sensitive topic with David and Victoria, who in the past have said little on the matter.

“It wasn’t pleasant, but we got into it,” Fisher told The Sunday Times.

“For me, I approached it as, ‘How did your marriage stay together?’ and you’ll see how he responds.”

The docuseries, premiering on Netflix on October 4, had its world premiere in Mayfair London at The Curzon on October 3, with the Beckham family putting on a united front.

Attending were David, Victoria, their three sons Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, and Cruz, 18, as well as their daughter Harper, 12, Brooklyn’s wife Nicola Peltz Beckham and Romeo’s girlfriend Mia Regan.

After Romeo shared photos of the family on Instagram, fans went into meltdown over the “handsome” Beckham sons.

“What can I say other than how proud I am of you @davidbeckham, such an amazing premiere 🤍 love my family so much,” Romeo captioned the family photo.

“Best looking family in the world, move over Kardashians,” one commenter said.

“God bless the Beckham gene 🔥😂,” a second wrote.

“Omg the picture with your brothers tho ❤️🔥!” another said.

“Holy Beckham brothers,” a user added.
