Nikon has launched a new mirrorless camera, Z f, in India. The camera has a full-frame sensor and EXPEED 7 image-processing engine, which are also present in flagship models Z 9 and Z 8. The Z f camera has an iconic design inspired by the historic FM2 film camera.
The Nikon Z f camera has a sleek and sophisticated design, with a glossy black finish that is made of magnesium. The grip is designed to be comfortable to hold when used with FX lenses. The camera will be available for purchase from mid-October at a price of Rs 1,76,995.
The Nikon Zf boasts a full-frame backside-illuminated CMOS image sensor with 24.5-megapixel resolution as its core. The EXPEED 7 engine incorporated in the camera ensures advanced autofocus performance, speedy shooting rates, and outstanding low-light capabilities. Furthermore, the processor supports innovative features such as a 96-megapixel pixel-shift shooting mode and an in-body image stabilisation system.
The Z f camera boasts H.265 10-bit in-camera recording and N-Log/HLG recording support. With the ability to record up to 125 minutes of 4K UHD/60p video, it is perfect for extended video recording sessions. The camera also supports 6K oversampling, which makes high-resolution video creation possible. The Video S mode in the camera allows users to control auto exposure with a fixed shutter speed.
The camera has “pixel-shift shooting” feature, which enables it to take multiple NEF (RAW) files while moving the image sensor position with the aid of in-camera VR. This feature is particularly helpful when the camera is on a tripod or other equipment. The Z series camera is the first-ever full-frame/FX-format camera to have a Vari-angle monitor. It allows you to take shots from various angles, including overhead, low angle, or selfies. Moreover, it is the first touch-operation camera in the Z series. The Z f also has a monochrome selector with new black and white mode options.
“We are thrilled with the launch of Nikon Z f, our latest addition to the full-frame Z family that offers versatile and innovative hybrid features. The new camera is power-packed with the EXPEED 7 image processor offering features like in-camera 10-bit N-log video. With this launch, we have introduced the industry-first focus point VR which helps to reduce the subject blur even in compositions where the subject is positioned at the periphery and comes with a dedicated monochrome selector. The AI-driven features like Portrait Impression Balance, Skin Softening and Advance Auto, are designed keeping in mind the needs of photographers and cinematographers who are into Wedding and Fashion genres. The new Nikon Z f will become an extension of the creator community and will help them take their content a notch higher,” Sajjan Kumar, Managing Director of Nikon India, said.
