German brand Adidas recently opened two new addresses in Los Angeles, bringing the total number of stores in the city to six, including Santa Monica.

The expansion is in line with the brand’s desire to be more innovative in terms of retail and to support its community engagement. These openings also enable the brand to position itself strongly in the sporting territory in the run-up to the next FIFA World Cup 2026 and Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.

The first store to open before the summer, the Adidas West Hollywood flagship, located at 8428 Melrose Avenue, offers a 5,390 square-foot space. Designed by Adidas’ in-house creative team, the store is “a fusion of sleek, minimalist design with the energy of Los Angeles.”

“With its innovative layout, including two distinct rooms and The Lab which spotlights the brand’s stories and collaborations, the Melrose store represents the future of retail experiences,” said president of Adidas North America, John Miller.

The other major news concerns the opening of a second Adidas store in Downtown LA at 761 South Broadway. In an area where boutiques from Gentle Monster, Acne Studio, Ganni and Aesop are located, but where the Paul Smith brand has just closed, Adidas is betting on a major expansion.

“Adidas Originals DTLA serves as a tribute to the city’s roots while pushing forward with cutting-edge design,” said the brand with three stripes. “Spanning two levels, it will function as a community hub, hosting workshops, events, and collaborations with local artists, reflecting Adidas’ deep ties to the creative heartbeat of Los Angeles.”

The new store honors its heritage with an amazing architectural revival, blending raw historical elements with bold use of Adidas’ iconic blue and distinctive branding. A palette of refined materials provides a clean backdrop for selected products and dynamic displays. Rails echoing the principles of old-fashioned butcher shops bring a new shopping experience.

“Los Angeles is a center for culture and a global destination for sports, arts, and entertainment. The city inspires our brand to innovate and create products that connect with the diverse lifestyles of our consumers,” added Miller. “The new flagship stores reflect our deep commitment to the city and its dynamic communities, blending creativity, performance, and sustainability to offer products and experiences that resonate with the culture of Los Angeles.”

“The openings of these stores reinforce Adidas’ mission to elevate retail, foster inclusivity and engage with the diverse communities that call Los Angeles home,” added the Adidas team. As part of this long-term commitment, Adidas is developing connections with the city’s diverse communities by building a new creative division within Adidas Originals called “OG L.A.”

This new team reflects Adidas’ dedication to nurturing local talent while highlighting those who are contributing to the city’s unique sports and lifestyle culture. OG L.A. will also feature prominently on product hang tags and laces, “setting the stage for the brand’s deeper connection to the local market.”
