Air India said a Delhi-JFK flight of its flagship Airbus A350 will take off on November 1, and an Airbus A350-900 aircraft will start operations on the Delhi-Newark route from January 2, 2025.
Air India Monday announced its flagship wide-body aircraft Airbus A350 will operate on two key ultra-long haul US routes from November this year, starting with the Delhi-New York JFK flight from November 1.
In a statement, Air India said a Delhi-JFK flight of its flagship Airbus A350 will take off on November 1, and an Airbus A350-900 aircraft will start operations on the Delhi-Newark route from January 2, 2025.
“Our brand-new A350s are getting ready to take off to the USA. Discover & experience our new Premium Economy for the first time on our flights to New York JFK and Newark. Starting November 1, 2024 between DEL-JFK, and from January 2, 2025 between DEL -EWR,” Air India said in a post on X.
The airline said a premium economy class, along with business and economy classes, will be offered on these flights.
Air India said the seats on these flights are available for booking on its website, mobile app as well as through travel agents.
The routes are currently being served by Boeing 777-300ER airplanes.
“This (the introduction of Airbus A350) is a significant leap forward for our US operations that also underscores our commitment to continuous improvement,” said Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director at Air India.
The Tata Group-0wned airline has six A350 in its fleet while 34 more are on order.
Air India currently operates flights to five destinations in the United States — Washington, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Newark.
