All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final live on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two

Sports fans right across the UK can experience one of the oldest and fastest field games in the world live this Sunday (July 21) on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two.

It’s one of biggest sporting spectacles on the island of Ireland as Cork take on Clare in the GAA All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final. It’s the first time the All-Ireland Hurling Final will be broadcast live on BBC network television.

A capacity crowd at Dublin’s Croke Park is expected for a repeat of the 2013 final that saw Clare emerge eventual winners after a replay. This year, in two outstanding semi-finals, Cork ended Limerick’s quest for five consecutive All-Ireland titles, while Clare booked their place in the showpiece decider having edged out Munster champions, Kilkenny.

Sarah Mulkerrins presents the live coverage starting at 3pm on BBC iPlayer, on BBC Two, on the BBC Sport NI website and on BBC Two NI for the 3.30pm throw-in. Sarah is joined by Ulster hurling great Neil McManus and former Kilkenny corner back Paul Murphy with analysis also from Limerick’s five-time All-Ireland winner, Seamus Flanagan, and All-Star Waterford hurler, Austin Gleeson. Mark Sidebottom provides all the updates from pitch side with Seán Óg Ó hAilpín, the last Cork man to lift the Liam McCarthy in 2005, while Clare hurling legend Jamesie O’Connor joins Thomas Niblock on commentary.
