Ambassador Caffery Bridge

The Ambassador Caffery Bridge, which spans the Vermilion River in Lafayette, Louisiana, was completed and opened to traffic in 1987.

The bridge was built to help alleviate traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the rapidly growing area of Lafayette at that time.

The bridge is named after Ambassador Jefferson Caffery, who had a distinguished career in diplomacy, serving in various countries including Egypt, France, and Brazil. Naming the bridge after him honors his contributions and legacy.
