Amorepacific appoints new North America head on leadership reshuffle

Korean beauty giant Amorepacific has appointed Giovanni Valentini to the role of CEO of its North America regional headquarters, effective June 1.

A luxury beauty veteran, Valentini joins Amorepacific from Lancôme USA, where he served as general manager of French beauty brand within L’Oréal’s luxe division. Prior leadership roles include stints at Armani Beauty, Kiehl’s, and Unilever brands across different geographies. 

With the appointment, Amorepacific said it aims to elevate its North American business, with a focus on expanding its customer base for its core brands – Laneige, Innisfree, Sulwhasoo, and Tata Harper – while continuing to diversify brand offerings in the U.S. and Canada.

Amorepacific’s North American business has witnessed substantial growth in recent years. In 2023, the company’s North American sales grew by 58% compared to the previous year, according to the Korean firm.

As a result, the North American share of Amorepacific’s international business has expanded from 5.5% in 2021 to 20.5% in 2023, with skincare brands Laneige, Innisfree, and Sulwhasoo proving pivotal to this growth.

Coinciding with Valentini’s appointment, Robin Na, the former head of North America, has been appointed to lead the company’s business in Japan. Na boasts extensive experience in leading international business operations, which the company said looks to amplify its performance in the Japanese beauty market.
