Andrea Bocelli and daughter Virginia Bocelli, 11, launch duet for her film debut | Music | Entertainment

Andrea Bocelli has been performing live with his 11-year-old daughter Virginia Bocelli for the last few years now and it’s clear that alongside her brother Matteo Bocelli they’ve both inherited their father’s talent for singing.

Following duets from Over The Rainbow to Let It Snow, Andrea and Virginia have now released a new one, including a music video.

Posting on Instagram, the Italian tenor shared: “I am delighted to announce the release of my new single Dare to Be, recorded with my daughter Virginia.

“This song is taken from the motion picture Cabrini which tells the story of famed Roman Catholic missionary and future Saint Francesca Cabrini.

“It is an ode to the power of belief and perseverance, I hope you enjoy it.”

Virginia makes her feature film debut in Cabrini as a choir girl and a clip from the movie has been released by Angel Studios.

In the footage, she leads the other singers in a rendition of Va, pensiero aka Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Verdi’s opera Nabucco.

The English version of the hymn begins: “As we sat by the water of Babylon, we laminated our lost land of Zion”.

The Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves is inspired by Psalm 137 and recounts the Ancient Jewish people being led into captivity by the Babylonians, following the destruction of Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem in 586 BC.

Cabrini is set to release in cinemas on March 8 on International Women’s Day.
