We may be well into the fall season, but that doesn’t matter to Angelina Jolie.
Yesterday, the actor—deep in the throes of her Maria press tour—attended a screening of the Pablo Larraín film in Beverly Hills where she dressed for the warmer seasons. (But let’s be honest, a California autumn rivals everyone else’s spring and summer.)
Jolie, who has declined to dress in full Callas-core during her promotion cycle, wore a white suit with a white square neck top for the screening. While the single-button blazer and the cropped, slim-fitting trousers were undeniably summery, her shoes were what caught our eye.

The actor wore a pair of towering five-and-a-half-inch Aquazzura heels with a warm brown leather platform and an off-white linen open-toe and ankle strap. For those who keep their eyes trained on Jolie’s every footwear choice, these platform sandals come as quite a surprise. The actor typically favors Christian Louboutin Dolly 85 pumps in black and nude—though she’s recently been liable to try out a slouchy boot.
But judging by the actor’s latest look, perhaps there’s no need to store away your summer shoes after all. This fall, take a cue from Angelina Jolie and embrace open toes and linen. Weather permitting, of course.
