Anna Teurnell steps into the role of creative director at Filippa K, succeeding Liisa Kessler, who was appointed two years prior. She will oversee all creative aspects of the Swedish brand. Simultaneously, the designer will continue to lead her own label, Teurn Studios, established in 2021.

“I am delighted with this opportunity and excited to contribute to the evolution of a brand that has held a special place in my heart for decades. I see extraordinary potential in Filippa K, both on a global and local scale. Working closely with the teams, my foremost objective will be to define and develop the next generation of the brand’s iconic products,” expressed Anna Teurnell in a statement regarding her arrival at Filippa K.

Anna Teurnell has previously lent her talents to the creative studios of esteemed establishments such as Marimekko (from 2014 to 2017) and brands under the Hennes & Mauritz group, including H&M (from 2003 to 2011), &Other Stories (from 2011 to 2014), and Arket (from 2017 to 2023). There, she cultivated a refined style, focusing on wardrobe essentials. Her approach to fashion remains in harmony with the DNA of Filippa K, a label that, since the 1990s, has fostered a creative identity that has made it an emblematic brand of Scandinavian minimalist fashion.

“We are thrilled to welcome Anna Teurnell as the new director of creation at Filippa K. Her unparalleled expertise in design and merchandising, coupled with her innate sense of timeless style, naturally aligns with our core values. We are confident that this appointment will advance our strategy and drive Filippa K’s growth,” stated Marie Forssenius, Interim CEO of Filippa K.

Filippa K has 21 boutiques, all in Northern Europe and mainly in its home market. On its website, the label claims to be sold through over 400 retailers worldwide. In the past, the brand has claimed a turnover of 70 million euros, but in recent years the Swedish press has reported a figure of 500 million kronor, or around 45 million euros.
