Arc’teryx opens new ‘pinnacle’ store in Covent Garden

Canadian technical outdoor brand Arc’teryx Equipment has chosen London’s Covent Garden to open its biggest store in Europe.

The opening maintains its three-store status in London (in addition to Piccadilly and Battersea Power Station) and is actually an upgrade as the brand moved a short distance from Long Acre (which closed on 22 February) to open the much larger store on Shaftesbury Capital-operated King Street.

The new 733 sq m store carries the brand’s technical high-performance collections featuring both apparel and equipment, ranging a full spectrum of gear including technical trail, climb, and snow gear, as well as packs, footwear, and the Veilance – Arc’teryx’s collection “designed to navigate and respond to urban environments”.

A new brand-made footwear range features the Vertex, Kragg and Sylan shoes.

It also becomes its first store in Europe to feature a ReBird Service Centre. It’s Arc’teryx’s “platform for circularity, designed to build a more sustainable, circular future for the outdoor industry” exclusively handling product repairs. This includes ‘light touch’ repairs like Gore-Tex patches and zipper pulls, technical washing and re-waterproofing, product assessment, and education on care and repair.

Meanwhile, the new store will also focus heavily on community where customers can access ‘Arc’teryx Beyond the Brand’ in a Community Hub that includes screenings of athlete films, athlete-recommended adventure and exploration books and literature, access to local trails maps and events news, and UK ambassador profiles.
