Banks are usually closed on national and state regional holidays, as well as on second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays or on specific designated days as per the holiday list provided by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). As 17th August is the 3rd Saturday of the month of August, the bank will remain operational on this date. So there is no holiday for Banks on 17th August.

Schools Closed On 17 August In Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad

In view of the Kanwar Yatra, District Magistrate Anuj Singh has given instructions to keep schools up to class VIII closed in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad on Saturday, August 17. Only schools and colleges located on Kanth Road, Delhi Road, Rampur Road within a radius of five kilometers within the city limits will remain closed.

Schools up to class 8 of all the boards including Basic Education Council, Secondary Education Council, UP Board, ICSE, CBSE will remain closed. 

Apart from this, schools will also remain closed on Sunday 18th and Raksha Bandhan on 19th.

August 20- (Tuesday)- Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi -Banks are closed in Kerala.

August 26- (Monday)- Janmashtami (Shravan Vad-8)/Krishna Jayanthi- Banks are closed in Gujarat, Orissa, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh state, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar.
