New Delhi: India’s legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar will continue his association with Mumbai Indians (MI) after joining them for Rs 30 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega-auction. If we talk about the 2025 mega auction the left-arm pacer’s name didn’t come up during the first accelerated process. Even none of the teams bid for Arjun in the second accelerated process and he went unsold. After that when there was a final round, that time Mumbai Indians decided to bid for Arjun and they acquired his services at his base price.
The left-arm pacer sets a new and unique record after joining the Mumbai Indians. Looking at his last associations, MI bought him in three different IPL auctions. Arjun Tendulkar first joined MI in the IPL 2021 mini-auction at his base price of Rs 20 lakh. He was the last player to be bought in the auction.
The Mumbai Indians re-signed Sachin Tendulkar’s son in the IPL 2022 mega-auction. Talking about the 2022 Auction the bidding was between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians, MI made the winning bid worth Rs 30 lakh. Arjun made his IPL debut in 2023 and played four matches in the season. The left-arm pacer played only one match in IPL 2024, at the IPL 2025 mega-auction, Mumbai Indians were the only team which bid for Arjun and he joined them at his base price.
Other cricketers to join the same team in 3 different auctions:
Glenn Maxwell, Jaydev Unadkat and Harpreet Brar are among the players to join the same team in 3 different auctions. Interestingly, Rajasthan Royals (RR) released Unadkat twice before back-to-back mini-auctions. He joined RR in IPL 2018 (mega), 2019 and 2020 auctions. RR retained him before IPL 2021.
