Any magpie with an eye for sparkle relishes awards season, a time when tens of millions of dollars in precious gems and metals roam the red carpet. Last night’s Golden Globes saw a parade of spectacular jewelry—ranging from vintage to contemporary—descend upon the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Tiffany & Co. dug into the archives for the awards, decking out Dua Lipa and Reese Witherspoon in archival necklaces from 1962 and 1997, respectively. And while it appeared Margot Robbie kept it simple in diamond studs and a pink diamond ring from Lorraine Schwartz, the two pieces she wore were worth over $3 million.
The men also dressed to impress, in a particularly show-stopping year for male jewelry. Barry Keoghan embellished his Louis Vuitton suit with a circular gold brooch, gold and pearl chain, and matched his ruby necklace to his solo earring—all from Tiffany. Jon Batiste also turned to the jewelry house for his starfish brooch by Jean Schlumberger.
Some of the attendees wore jewelry with sentimental value. Colman Domingo donned Bayard Rustin’s pinky ring in honor of the civil rights activist, who he portrayed in the film, Rustin. Lily Gladstone, who won her first-ever Golden Globe for her performance in Killer of the Flower Moon, wore earrings by Lenise Omeasoo—the Blackfeet and Cree beadwork artist behind Antelope Woman Designs—paying homage to her Blackfeet roots.
