Ayo Edebiri Wore the Prettiest Mermaid Hair and Nails to The Bear Season 3 Premiere — See the Photos

She may be starring in The Bear, but Ayo Edebiri was serving up mermaid magic at the season three premiere of the Hulu series. The Emmy-winning actor’s soft waves and barely-there nail art made her look like less like a chef and more like a mythical sea princess.

Hairstylist Miles Jeffries, who frequently works with Edebiri, parted Edebiri’s hair in the middle and pulled the top portion of the star’s hair up and back, pinning it at the crown of her head and styling the long lengths in soft, loose mermaid waves that flowed down her back to brush her Loewe strapless floral gown. It’s effortlessly pretty and so summery, especially with the glowy, rosy makeup by Ernesto Casillas, who applied champagne and rosewood shadows on the actor’s lids, glimmering highlighter on her cheeks, and a slick of gloss for more dewy shine.

The mermaid inspo didn’t stop with Edebiri’s hair. Her nails were equally aquatic-inspired, a minimal but impactful design that complemented the blurred floral print of her dress. Manicurist Eri Ishizu created another subtle but gorgeous “ethereal watercolor” nail art moment for the star, similar to the one she wore at the Inside Out 2 premiere. Ishizu swirled pink and yellow OPI pro gel polishes in Lookin’ Cute-icle and Without a Pout to create a marbled effect, then topped them with OPI’s velvet finish gel in Mauvnetic Poles combined with a magnetic stick. Atop the design, Ishizu drew “imperfect” lines with Go Big or Go Chrome and a skinny brush and created water droplets with OPI’s Stay Shiny Top Coat. If you’ve got the skills, a steady hand, and a few nail tools, you could definitely DIY something similar for the summer.
