Azam Khan Enjoys Street Food In New York After Pakistan Lose To India In T20 World Cup 2024 – WATCH

New York: A day after Pakistan were outclassed by arch-rivals India in the marquee T20 World Cup 2024 clash, wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan was caught enjoying burgers on New York streets, the video of which went viral on social media. In the video, shot from a far distance, Azam was seen gorging from a roadside fast food stall, at a time when he was severely criticized for his fitness and cricketing form.

Coming into the national side after a so-so performance in the Pakistan Super League, Azam was a surprise inclusion in the squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. He played in Pakistan’s campaign opener against USA and was dismissed for a golden duck. He didn’t even keep the wickets against the USA.

Against India, Azam was dropped expectedly with all-round Imad Wasim taking his place. However, it didn’t help Pakistan as the Men in Green slumped to a six-run defeat to put themselves on the verge of elimination from the group stage. However, with two losses in as many games, Pakistan are languishing at fourth in Group A.

They need to win both their remaining games against Ireland and Canada and hope India and USA lose their respective games in order to qualify for the Super 8. Meanwhile, this isn’t a first time a Pakistani cricketer has been a victim of body shaming.

Earlier, former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was brutally trolled by fans in 2019 after they lost to India in an ODI World Cup game in England. Sarfaraz was even called ‘fat like a pig’ while he was with his son at a shopping mall, the video of which went viral on social media.
