BCCI announces changes in Duleep Trophy 2024 squads, THIS Sunrisers Hyderabad player to replace Shubman Gill as India A captain

Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep will not be taking part in second round of Duleep Trophy 2024 after being selected for India vs Bangladesh 2024 1st Test squad.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced major changes in the squads for the remaining rounds of the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 tournament, starting with the second round which gets underway at Anantapur from Thursday (September 12). With BCCI already announcing the squad for the first India vs Bangladesh 2024 Test last week, India ‘A’ Captain Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep have been named in this squad.

As a result these players will not be featuring in the second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024 tournament. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Karnataka batter Mayank Agarwal has been named as replacement skipper to lead the India ‘A’.

“The men’s Selection Committee have announced certain changes for the second round of the Duleep Trophy starting from 12th September in Anantapur. The selectors have named Pratham Singh (Railways) as a replacement for Gill, Akshay Wadkar (Vidarbha CA) as a replacement for KL Rahul and SK Rasheed (Andhra CA) as a replacement for Jurel. Left-arm spinner Shams Mulani will replace Kuldeep in the squad whereas Aaqib Khan (UPCA) will replace Akashdeep in the squad,” a BCCI statement read on Tuesday (September 10).
