Feet can go toe-to-toe with other body parts any day of the week.

That’s according to those with a foot fetish who have stepped up to reveal to HuffPost what exactly turns their crank when it comes to feet.

Physical appearance is not surprisingly a big draw. Painted nails, curved arches, toe rings, particular shoes and socks, or size and shape all do the job for some foot fanatics, while for others, it’s the taboo nature of the fetish that revs their engines.

A 2023 survey conducted by Fun With Feet — a platform for users to buy and sell photos of feet — showed that more than half of the respondents said the biggest turn-on was how illicit it is perceived.

“The dirtiness and disgust that’s associated with feet in many cultures just makes it all the more appealing,” said one respondent, per the New York Post. “It’s like a forbidden fruit that I just want to savor.”

Feet are usually hidden by socks, shoes or even sandals. But they do come up to play every now and then.

“The summertime is the best because everyone is wearing open-toed shoes or sandals,” Jeremy M., who omitted his last name for privacy, told HuffPost, per the Post.

The 40-year-old first noticed his interest in feet when he caught himself “checking out feet or toes, especially the sexy, bright-painted coloured ones,” he said, adding that he prefers “perfectly lined toes where no toes are longer than the other.”

“Some guys like them dirty — for me, I prefer clean feet,” he said, adding that a woman who maintains her feet is likely taking care of herself in other positive ways.

Feet might not be everyone’s cup of tea but there’s no denying they’ve become a growing industry.

PornHub’s year-in-review from last year revealed that Gen Z users searched for X-rated feet content more than other generations. Fun With Feet reported that “foot fetishes are growing exponentially year after year,” per Vice.

When it comes to the f-word — feet, of course — there’s cash to be had, too. Some feet pic sellers are raking in a reported $45,000 a year.
