Best new headphones Australia: Beats and Kim Kardashian release range of ultra-chic headphones – as the best of the rest are revealed

When it comes to Kim Kardashian’s aesthetic, there’s one thing we know to be true above all others, and that is that she is dedicated to a neutral colour palette.

Which is why it’s no surprise she has turned her love of neutrals to her latest collaboration with the tech brand Beats By Dre, releasing an ultra-chic range of headphones in three new colourways of the Beats Studio Pro.

Dubbed Beats x Kim, the collaboration takes Beats’ fan-favourite over-ear headphones and gives them a Kardashian stylish twist.

Retailing for $529 at JB Hi-Fi, the headphones come in three colours inspired by Kim’s signature palette: Moon (light), Dune (medium) and Earth (deep).

They’re stylish but wearable, and will look as good with your office neutrals as they will your activewear at the weekends.

“I’m so excited we’re bringing these three popular, chic colours to Beats’ most iconic and advanced headphones,” Kim Kardashian said in a statement.

Beats Studio have always been a fashion statement, so I can’t wait to see how everyone styles them.”

The collection marks Kim Kardashian’s second collaboration with Beats, after she first partnered with the tech brand in 2022 on a special-release edition of the Beats Fit Pro.

Like all Beats headphones, the headphones deliver a fully immersive listening experience.

Each custom 40mm driver has been engineered for optimal clarity, with near-zero distortion even at high volume — an improvement of up to 80 per cent compared to Beats Studio 3.

At the touch of a button, two dynamic listening modes let you choose whether to keep the world out or let it in.

Fully adaptive Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) continuously monitors the noise around you in real-time, then creates a precisely-tuned filter to cancel it out.

You can easily switch to Transparency mode to let the sounds of your environment mix seamlessly with your music when you want to stay present and aware.

There is also an impressive 40 hours of battery life — which is great if you’re like me and forget to charge your headphones whenever you go out.

I got my hands on a pair of the Beats headphones before launch and can confirm they are everything you need and more from a headphone.

Lightweight, stylish and super portable, they are comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time, but also easy to function — whether you want to drown out the world with active noise cancellation or keep the headphones in Transparency mode to let the sounds of the environment mix with your music.

I find the Transparency mode particularly useful in the office, when I want to listen to what I’m working on without drowning out the sounds of other people entirely.
