We know how vital it is to drink at least two litres of water everyday — but sometimes the taste of plain old H2O doesn’t inspire us to pick up a glass and sip.
The celebrity-loved brand Waterdrop is trying to change that by developing a tiny pod you can add to your plain water to give it natural, sugar-free flavouring.
It’s not claiming to re-invent the wheel but the sole aim of the company is to encourage everyone to drink more water. And it’s just launched in Australia.

The “microdrinks” — as they are called — have a bevvy of athlete and supermodel fans including Novak Djokovic, Taylor Fritz, Adriana Lima and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
On the Waterdrop website you can choose between a number of flavours and purchase a glass or stainless steel water bottle while you’re at it, so you can sip and go on the move.
What starts as a sugar-free cube turns into a refreshing summer drink when placed in a glass of water enriching it with vitamins, natural fruit and plant extracts.
With summer officially starting today it’s the perfect way to stay hydrated — especially for anyone who finds water a bit hit or miss.
“I started using Waterdrop years ago and found the product really innovative. I’ve always struggled to drink my recommended amount of water each day and this helps mix it up a bit so I don’t feel like I’m having plain water,” one woman wrote on the website.
“Waterdrop has the BEST customer service! They went above and beyond when we had an issue with the cap on our water bottle. I couldn’t be happier with this company,” said another.
A third added: “I like them for my job as it’s lots of walking. It’s nice that they don’t have powder that gets all over you and up your nose when opening the pack”.
The brand is only newly available in Australia but is sure to have similar success to that of the US.
