Beverley rail crossing climber comes crashing back to the ground after signal crumbles under him

Police are looking for a rail crossing climber who came crashing down to earth – bringing infrastructure with it – in Beverley, 130km southeast of Perth.

CCTV which had only just been installed captured a man carefully placing his drink and phone out of harm’s way before climbing the signal pole early Friday morning.

With another person filming close by, the structure collapses under the man’s weight and he falls heavily to the ground.

“The quality of the footage is exceptional.”

The climber grabbed his valuables before making a run for it.

“I wondered why that was down this morning when I drove up Main St,” one local said.

“Thought a car might have hit it. Guess I know why now. Great clear vision and they will be identified quickly, I’m sure.”
