The British Fashion Council (BFC) has released its provisional schedule for London Fashion Week (LFW) running from 16-20 February with Burberry once again taking the top billing for ‘LFW40’ in a reference to the event’s 40th anniversary.
Importantly too, the schedule will officially include no real fur with the BFC having banned it from its premier runway event. However, LFW has actually been fur-free for some time with labels shunning it in favour of faux fur.
Paul Costelloe will open proceedings on the Friday morning with his 09:00 show while Burberry takes its traditional Monday afternoon (16:00) slot in an ongoing digital-physical hybrid schedule that spotlights “London’s unique creative communities and its position as a world leading cultural capital”.
Joining Burberry and Costelloe in the provisional line-up are 16Arlington, Alhuwalia, David Koma, Dilara Findikoglu, Dunhill, Emilia Wickstead, Erdem, Eudon Choi, Fashion East, JW Anderson, KNWLS, Marques’Almeida, Molly Goddard, Richard Quinn, Roksanda, and Simone Rocha.
Meanwhile, the BFC NewGen Show Space will return to The Old Selfridges Hotel featuring in its line-up Aaron Esh, Ancuta Sarca, Chet Lo, Conner Ives, Derrick, DiPetsa, Feben, Harri, Helen Kirkum, Kazna Asker, Labrum London, Leo Carlton, Masha Popover, Paolo Carzana, Robyn Lynch, Saul Nash, Sinéad O’Dwyer, The Winter House, Tolu Coker and Yuhan Wang.
Also returning this season is the LFW City Wide Celebration, a programme of events and activations open to the public over LFW.
The BFC said the final physical and digital schedule will be released in January.
