BMW Built A Limited-Edition Carbon-Packed $60,000 Motorcycle To Celebrate Its WSBK Championship Win, And You Can’t Have It

While it was Ducati celebrating its 20th manufacturer’s title in WSBK this year, BMW Motorrad’s Toprak Razgatlıoğlu came home with his second rider’s world title of the decade, and BMW’s first ever. With an incredible 18 victories and nine additional podium finishes, Toprak absolutely walked all over the field in his first season with BMW. To celebrate the effort, BMW has released a limited-edition signature edition of the M1000 RR street bike built to look just like Toprak’s competition machine with all-carbon bodywork and Rokit race livery.

A total of 54 individually-numbered Champion Edition machines will be built to commemorate Toprak’s race number. He’ll get bike number one, and the other 53 will be sold to the public for 54,000 euros. They’re probably all accounted for, but it doesn’t matter because none are coming to America. The current M1000 RR starts at $34,040, which is a relative bargain for a 212-horsepower race-homologated machine. It’s a pretty big jump in price to the Champion Edition, but if you’re a carbon addict and you love exclusivity, maybe it’s worth an extra $25-ish grand to you.

Each Champion Edition comes standard as a monoposto finished in Blackstorm metallic. It’s fitted with M GPS Laptrigger, a DLC-coated M Endurance chain, M billet package, and the M Carbon package that all M1000 RR models can be optioned with. Champion Edition–specific Ilmberger-built carbon components include the tank covers, frame, swingarm, wiring harness covers, clutch cover, fairings, exhaust heat shield, and license plate holder. Everyone who buys one will also receive a voucher for a matching titanium exhaust from Akrapovič, which is for track use only.

All 54 units are consecutively numbered from 01/54 to 54/54, feature a special graphic commemorating the world championship title on the M Carbon tank cover, and are personally signed by world champion Toprak Razgatlıoğlu. For optimal durability, the world champion graphic and the champion’s signature have been sealed with clear lacquer. You’ll also get an opportunity to meet and greet with Toprak when you take delivery of your new motorcycle.

This is a pretty cool bike, and it probably delivers a whole shedload of performance for the money, in addition to the rarity and collectability aspect. I don’t really have 60 grand to drop on a new motorcycle, but it’s pretty cool that you can get a real street-legal race bike that can stomp all over most hypercars in a straight line for comparatively little. This kind of performance in a car is either electric or costs a million dollars, or both.
