CBSE Board Exams 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to hold the practical examinations for classes 10th and 12th from today, January 1, 2024. Meanwhile, the Board announced the provision of psychological counselling facilities for students and parents. This initiative is strategically aligned with the already announced exam schedule for practical and theory papers, set to kick off on January 1 and February 15, 2024, respectively.

“The CBSE will provide psychological counselling facility to students and parents from 1 January, 2024. The exam schedule for practical and theory papers has already been announced from 1st January, 2024 and 15th February, 2024 respectively. The psychological counselling has been aligned accordingly for students’ facilitation,” the Central Board of Secondary Education in an official notice said.

According to the press note from the Board, counselling facilities in 2024 are as follows:

  1. IVRS: The Board will offer a toll-free number, 1800-11-8004, for students and parents. It’s open 24/7 and provides information and advice on exam preparation, stress management, FAQs, and CBSE office contacts in Hindi and English. Additionally, bilingual podcasts on these subjects will be available on the CBSE website, www.cbse.gov.in.
  2. Tele-counselling: The tele-counselling service is voluntary and completely free. It runs from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Saturday. For this year, 65 Principals, trained counsellors, and special educators from both government and private schools affiliated with the Board, along with psychologists, are available to provide this support. As per an ANI report, out of these, 52 are from India, while 13 counsellors are from Kuwait, Nepal, Japan, Doha-Qatar, Oman (Muscat) and United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras-al-Khaimah),” the press note stated. Since 1998, the Board has been continuously providing psychological counselling in two phases, before the examination and after the result, to keep the students of Class X and XII of CBSE-affiliated schools stress-free during the examinations.”CBSE is probably the only Board in the country which has been providing psychological counselling to the students and parents on such a wide scale continuously for 26 years in innovative ways. Over the years, the Board has shared many important messages on social media and has also used YouTube, Facebook and Instagram platforms to actively engage with the students,” as per the press note, news agency ANI reported.
  3. Audio-visual content on Youth Experiences, Aggression, Depression, Internet Addiction Disorder, Examination Stress, Multimedia content on various topics such as Specific Learning Disabilities, Substance Use Disorders and Life Skills to deal with them can also be viewed and listened to.

According to the recently released CBSE Date sheet, the CBSE Class 12 examinations 2024 are scheduled to take place between February 15 and April 10. Concurrently, the Class 10 exams for 2024 are set to begin on February 19 and conclude on March 13. These examinations will be conducted from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, adhering to the designated time slot specified by the CBSE board.

CBSE Class 10, 12 Practical Exams 2024 From Jan 1: Guidelines Released For Students

  1. The students/Parents must ensure that their subjects of studies are being reflected correctly in the list of candidates submitted by the schools.
  2. The students/parents should be aware of the syllabus and the subjects in which practical examinations are to be conducted.
  3. The students should appear in the practical examinations as per schedule as no second chance to appear in the practical exams will be provided by the Board.
  4. In case of any problem or query in respect of any of the above points, the concerned student shall contact their school.
