Anthony Keegan took a trip down memory lane when he began visualizing the brand’s spring 2025 collection. He pored over the collections from the brand’s beginnings in 1981 and quickly saw the importance of the fabric in a period when “pattern cutters became designers.”
He embraced that history, offering up a range of updated classic menswear pieces with subtle texture and dimensions that “get more interesting as you get closer,” as he described it. That included a melanged seersucker suit, cotton and silk sweaters, perforated suede overshirts and a wide range of polos with johnny collars.
Bugatchi, which is best known for its shirts, also offered up a wide range of other pieces from shorts and long trousers in a variety of soft shades to jacquard sweaters and a varsity jacket that combined suede with knit sleeves and back.
Among the most memorable pieces were short-sleeve sport shirts with exploded patterns, a technical cotton tennis jacket with a hood that could work as well off the court as on, and a lightweight suede jacket with several pockets.
Keegan also unveiled a double-face shirt in a tight black-and-white print with a one-piece collar that is only designed to worn open. Stretch jersey seersucker shorts with a matching camp shirt were also indicative of the season.
He also revealed that Bugatchi is in the final stages of opening its first shop-in-shop with a retailer in Puerto Rico as it continues to expand its reach and collection to create a true lifestyle brand.
