Burberry has opened the first of a quartet of winter holiday pop-ups in the Alps, debuting in Switzerland, Italy and France, in a novel move by the UK marque.
To celebrate the season, Burberry opened its first winter pop-ups in the series on December 6 at G&B Courmayeur in the Piedmont region of Italy, and in Franz Kraler Cortina d’Ampezzo, in the Dolomite mountains just south of Austria.
London-based Burberry will also add additional stores in Maltempi at Courchevel in the French Alps and in Modes in St. Moritz, in central Switzerland.
The pop-ups will run until the end of the winter season in each resort, Burberry noted in a release.
Decorated with a seasonal check pattern in the house’s new ripple colorway, the pop-up stores offer an assortment of holiday gifts and winter clothing, added the 167-year-old label.
The power-mountain pop-ups will feature a range of ideas from the house’s creative director Daniel Lee, who joined Burberry in September 2022. From festive stockings, hot water bottles, scarves, coats and jackets, to small leather accessories and shoes, showcasing an array of seasonal checks and the recently refreshed Equestrian Knight Design by Lee that dates back to 1901.
