Cailee Spaeny Dons Sheer Mugler Dress for ‘Alien: Romulus’ UK Premiere

Cailee Spaeny embraced dark glamour at the premiere of her new film “Alien: Romulus” on Wednesday in London.

The actress selected a high-neck sheer Mugler dress featuring a backless silhouette. Spaeny’s gothic frock, lined with latex feathers, came from the label’s pre-fall 2024 line. She accessorized with diamond Bulgari jewelry and peep-toe pumps. Stylist Nicky Yates, who also counts Naomi Ackie and Katherine Langford as clients, dressed her for the occasion.

Spaeny wore her brunette tresses in a sleek bun, while her makeup consisted of a brown smokey eye, rosy blush and a mauve lip.

The seventh installment in the “Alien” franchise premieres Friday in the U.S. Set between the original “Alien” film (1979) and “Aliens” (1986), the sci-fi flick costars David Jonsson, Isabela Merced, Aileen Wu, Archie Renaux and Spike Fearn. “Alien: Romulus” is directed by Fede Álvarez, who previously helmed 2013’s “Evil Dead” reboot and the 2016 horror film “Don’t Breathe.”

Last year, Spaeny embraced feminine flairs while promoting Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla.” At the Venice Film Festival, the actress selected a botanical print off-the-shoulder midi dress from Rodarte’s pre-fall 2023 collection, which featured a pink rosette affixed to the bodice.

Later, at the film’s Venice premiere, Spaeny donned a Miu Miu column gown with a bodice cutout and pearlescent fringe. She completed her look with Bulgari jewels, including diamond drop earrings and a wrap bracelet.

Spaeny served as the face of the jewelry brand’s Omnia fragrances — Crystalline, Amethyste and Coral — to unveil their redesigned flacon and packaging.

“It’s been almost a year since I’ve shot the campaign and it was the first time doing anything like that. I was obviously very nervous, I didn’t know what to expect,” Spaeny told WWD of shooting in Portugal.

“It was fun because I felt that I got to play an extended version of me. With each scent [we] tell something different: so depending on which scent we were playing with at the time there would be sort of different attitudes and a slightly different character of myself,” she continued. “It was a little creative acting challenge, but I wasn’t really playing any character, it was based off of me. I felt like I sort of grew up during the shoot.”
