The Calzedonia group has changed its name and is now called Oniverse. The new name reflects the transformation of the company founded by president and majority shareholder Sandro Veronesi, now active in a number of sectors, from lingerie and hosiery to luxury yachts and wineries.
“We have grown significantly in the last few years, also by means of various acquisitions. The group now incorporates several brands, each with its own identity. This is why we have chosen a name that is different and independent from the brands that belong to the group,” Veronesi told FashionNetwork.com.
Oniverse, which Veronesi said is also “the anagram of the surname Veronesi,” is the owner of Intimissimi, Tezenis, Falconeri, Atelier Emé and Italian winery chain Signorvino. Italian label Antonio Marras and luxury yacht builder Cantiere del Pardo have also been recently acquired by the group.
Oniverse was founded in Verona, Italy, as Calzedonia in 1986. In 2022, it recorded a revenue of €3 billion, selling its products via over 5,300 monobrand stores in 56 countries. Consulting firm Pambianco has ranked Oniverse first in its 2023 ranking of Italian fashion groups with stock market listing potential, ahead of Armani and Golden Goose.
