The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the 18th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on January 21, 2024.
CTET 2024 Notification: The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the 18th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on January 21, 2024. The test will be conducted in twenty languages in 135 cities all over the country. The online application process will commence on November 3, 2023. The deadline for submitting online applications is November 23, 2023, and the application fee can be paid until 11:59 PM on the same day. Candidates can fill up the application form by visiting the official website – https://ctet.nic.in/. Before applying online please ensure to have the following documents/files:
- Scanned image of latest photograph in JPG/JPEG format only, for uploading.
- Scanned image of signature in JPG/JPEG format only, for uploading.
CBSE CTET Application Form
Filling out the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) application form can vary slightly from year to year, but generally, the process involves the following steps – registration, filling up the application form, uploading of the documents, paying the fee, and submitting the documents. If a candidate submits online more than one application, his/her candidature shall be liable to be cancelled and the candidate may also be debarred for future examination(s). - STEP 1: Log on to CTET’s official website https://ctet.nic.in
- STEP 2: Go to the link “Apply Online” and open the same.
- STEP 3: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down Registration No./Application No.
- STEP 4: Upload the latest Scanned Photograph and Signature
- STEP 5: Pay the Examination Fee by debit/credit card and net banking.
- STEP 6: Print the Confirmation page for record and future reference.

Uploading of scanned Photos and Signature are mandatory.
- Upload scanned photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format.
- The size of the scanned photograph should be between10 to100 KB
- Image Dimension of the photograph should be 3.5cm (width) x 4.5cm (height).
- The size of the scanned signature should be between 3 to 30 KB.
- The image Dimension of the signature should be 3.5cm (length) x 1.5cm (height).
- The candidates are advised to keep the scanned images of the latest photograph and signature of the candidates ready in JPG format and as per the size and dimension specified, before applying online. The scanned image of the latest photograph is required to upload to avoid the inconvenience at centre, as this photograph will be matched with the actual candidate appearing in the examination.

CBSE CTET Exam: Are You Eligible?
- The minimum qualifications for appearing in the CTET are as notified by NCTE. The candidates are advised to visit the website of NCTE https://ncte.gov.into ascertain their eligibility. The minimum qualifications for the teaching staff should be in accordance with the following: i. National Council for Teacher Education (Determination of Minimum Qualifications for Persons to be recruited as Education Teachers and Physical Education Teachers in Pre-Primary, Primary, UpperPrimary, Secondary, Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges) Regulations as amended and notified from time to time.
- Minimum qualifications laid down in the Recruitment Rules for the teachers by the Appropriate Government where the school is situated or the Recruitment Rules for the teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
- The candidate should satisfy his/her eligibility before applying and shall be personally responsible in case he/she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria. It is to be noted that if a candidate has been allowed to appear in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test it does not imply that the candidate’s eligibility has been verified. It does not vest any right with the candidate for appointment. The eligibility shall be finally verified, by the concernedrecruiting agency / appointing authority. CTET 2024 Notification: Exam Schedule
There will be two papers of CTET. Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V. Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
