Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday said that the board is vigilant and active in identifying and taking action against those spreading fake news and rumours.
CBSE Class 10th and Class 12th board examination 2024 will commence from tomorrow, February 15, 2024. It has now become a common practice for miscreants to spread fake and false question papers on social media platforms during the examination session. To stop such fake news and rumours, the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) has released an important notice stating that the board will take stern action against persons involved in circulating fake news on social media platforms under various provisions of the IPC and IT Act.
“CBSE is closely monitoring the situation with the help of law enforcement agencies to take stern action against persons involved in circulating fake news on social media platforms under various provisions of IPC and IT Act,” the board in an official notice said.
As per the CBSE notice, miscreants circulate fake pictures/videos of question papers and they claim that they have access to question papers which could be made available against payment of money. These persons, groups, and agencies intend to fleece the gullible students and parents as they demand money in return. Such irresponsible activities also create confusion and panic among the students and the public. Taking this into consideration, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday said that the board is vigilant and active in identifying and taking action against those spreading fake news and rumours. CBSE will take action against a student under UNFAIR MEANS rules and various sections of IPC if found indulging in spreading fake news.
CBSE Board Exams From February 15, 2024
The CBSE annual examinations of class X and XII are scheduled to be held from February 15 to April 2, 2024. The board has made elaborate arrangements for smooth and fair conduct of examinations. According to the CBSE board examination, the class 10th board examination will commence with Painting, Rai, Gurung, Tamang, and Sherpa papers on February 15, 2024. Meanwhile, the CBSE Secondary School Examination(Class 10th) will conclude with Computer Applications, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence on March 13.
Speaking of the CBSE Class 12th board examination 2024, the CBSE Senior School Certificate Examination(Class 12th) will commence with the Entrepreneurship, Kokborok, Capital Market Operation, Physical Activity Trainer paper on the first day of the exam(Feb 15). The board will conclude the CBSE Class 12 board examination with the Informatics Practices, Computer Science, and Information Technology paper on April 2, 2024.
Public Alert! Be Aware of Fake News And Rumours
Parents are also requested to guide their wards not to believe in such rumours and not indulge in any such activity which hampers the smooth conduct of forthcoming Board examinations. “Public is therefore alerted against such unverified news and rumours during the 2024 exams and further requested not to participate in such activities or spread such information through any form of communication to maintain the sanctity of examinations at all cost,” reads the notice.
