Celerio vs BMW 5-series: In a world of reverse, driver chose to push, video viral

What happens when untrained drivers are given the keys to a car? Bad things happen, sometimes funny and sometimes dangerous. In a CCTV footage, circulating on social media, one clearly inexperienced Maruti Suzuki Celerio driver was spotted damaging a BMW 5-series in the funniest manner possible. The incident took place in the parking area of a residential complex when the driver tried to reverse their car out of a spot and was unable to comprehend that they needed to counter-steer to make enough space between them and a parked 5-series. Watch what happened next, below.

As we just saw, the parking area of the residential complex had ample space for the car to move around but the untrained driver was unable to execute an effective manoeuvre. After struggling to get across the 5-series multiple times, it seems like the driver thought that maybe if they went faster towards the BMW it would magically move out of their way. While high-end luxury cars these days get advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and park assist, unfortunately, these cars do not have a feature in which they can sense bad drivers and move out of their way. Ultimately, we see the Celerio driver take a plunge of faith and ram straight into the right corner of the Nardo-grey BMW.

After giving a good push to the BMW with the Celerio, the driver got down to inspect why their wishful thinking did not work. The video cuts off during the embarrassing inspection. While this particular incident may crack a laugh, it also demonstrates the serious risk that untrained drivers on the roads pose to other motorists. If a driver is unable to comprehend basic parking manoeuvres then how effective will their driving skills be on the road, where they have to be mindful of their own vehicle’s speed and position and also of other motorists on the roads.
