Christina Aguilera Revived Her Signature Curls From the Early 2000s — See Photos

If I was as famous as Christina Aguilera and had an epic archive of instantly recognizable looks, you wouldn’t be able to stop me from going as my younger self for Halloween, like, every year. (Especially considering the superstar singer looks like she hasn’t aged since Y2K.) But while it seems she isn’t going to revive her plaid “Come On Over Baby” pants or her “Ain’t No Other Man” bedazzled headphones to go trick-or-treating this year, it appears she’s borrowing one of her more memorable early-2000s go-to hairstyles for her glamorous (and a little gory) Halloween Eve look.

Aguilera posted a carousel of photos to Instagram on October 30 to show off what will definitely be copied by many as a last-minute costume. She wears a floor-length, velvety, leopard-print dress with a significant slit that reveals her gem-studded fishnet stockings. The look is complemented by a crystal-covered boombox bag, which, if I’m being honest, isn’t much of a clue as to what this costume is supposed to be, if anything in particular. But I don’t care because the beauty look is so damn good.

Makeup artist Lora Arellano gave Aguilera a monochromatic look with brick tones: glossy, dimensional lips with lids to match. It could absolutely be an any-night-of-the-year look, but she went in a creepy-cool direction by adding thick, blood-like “tears” dripping down from the singer’s eyes.

But guys, c’mon—look at this hair. It takes me back to that chunk of time between her self-titled debut album and 2002’s Stripped, when she often wore her hair long with voluminous, spiraling curls, much like what stylist Yuichi Ishida delivered for this look.
