Concept BST Is An Even More Hardcore Polestar 6

Polestar appropriately revealed a fast-looking new concept based on the 6 called the Concept BST this week at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed.

It’s been almost two years since we first saw the Polestar 6. Based on the O2 concept that we saw earlier in the year, the Polestar 6 will be a convertible electric sports car making 884 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. With that kind of power, it should hit 60 mph in about three seconds on its way to a top speed of 155 mph.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Polestar use the BST name. Most recently, it showed up on a special handling-focused version of the Polestar 2. Compared to the regular Polestar 6, it appears the Concept BST is also focused on improving handling, offering more aggressive bodywork, a wider track, flared wheel arches, an aero-focused hood, a more aggressive front splitter and a big ole rear wing. It also has racing-inspired graphics because every Polestar BST model needs graphics, apparently.

In a statement, Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath said:

Now we are a brand with three models in production, it’s great to see them here together for the first time at a global event. Goodwood Festival of Speed is full of the most exciting cars and the most enthusiastic crowds, so it’s the perfect place for us to tease our Polestar Concept BST. This car is a demonstration of how far we can push our performance brand – Polestar turned up to 11, if you will – and a demonstration of how we could apply the BST formula to our line-up in the future.

Polestar hasn’t shared any powertrain details, so it’s not clear if the Concept BST shares the same performance figures as the Polestar 6, if it makes more power or if it even has a powertrain at this point at all. It’s also not clear whether the Concept BST will go into production. Then again, the Polestar 6 won’t go on sale until 2026, so the executives still have plenty of time to decide whether or not to offer a BST version of the 6.

If they do, we can’t imagine Polestar will build many of them, but we’re crossing our fingers we get the opportunity to hop behind the wheel at some point.
