Coronation Street fans believe Lauren Bolton (played by Cait Fitton) is still alive after spotting a vital clue. Lauren mysteriously vanished from Weatherfield in February, with police later concluding she had been murdered.
Last month, Joel Deering (Calum Lill) was revealed as Lauren’s killer. In a flashback scene, the lawyer barged into Lauren’s flat and pinned her to the ground.
While it wasn’t shown, it was suggested that Joel brutally attacked Lauren with a broken chair leg, seemingly killing her. But after recent scenes, viewers have speculated that she might not be dead after all.
Earlier this month, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) discovered someone has been fraudulently using her old company credit card.
Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) advised her to obtain copies of the statements in a bid to prove she couldn’t have made the purchases.
Wanting legal help, Bethany turned to Joel. This led viewers to speculate that Lauren is the one using Bethany’s credit card.
One wrote: “Calling it now… last scenes of Lauren was her in Bethany’s purse. Did she take a picture of Bethany’s work credit card or somehow clone it? Bet the £5 fell out and she was putting it back.”
Another added: “Think Lauren is in hiding using the credit card.” A third declared: “It’s definitely Lauren who’s been using Bethany’s credit card isn’t it, good on ya gal.”
Agreeing with the theory, a fourth said: “That’s an excellent hypothesis, especially given that there are no coincidences or stray actions in soapworld! I think you’re onto something there.
“Mind you, I still think that she could be with her actual mum – if she got in touch with her mum after lawyer thumped her and probably at least gave her a concussion she could be somewhere else in the country entirely with her mum keeping her away from news ‘as she’s not well enough’ They could be using the credit card together.”
Somebody else shared: “This makes a lot of sense. Especially as she referred to it being about buying trainers. Might just be me but I always think of Lauren as having that casual vibe to her.”
Coronation Street usually airs Mondays, Wednesday’s and Fridays, however, the schedule looks slightly different this week. The ITV soap has been axed this evening to make way for Austria vs France which kicks off at 7.15pm.
Monday’s instalment of Coronation Street will air at 8pm on Tuesday (June 18). Emmerdale has also been moved, with two episodes being shown back to back tomorrow evening before Coronation Street.
