Creta: Citroen C3 Aircross vs Hyundai Creta: Engine, features, price and Specifications comparison

Citroen India recently launched the much anticipated Citroen C3 Aircross SUV to the Indian market. The price for the C3 Aircross starts from Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and is offered in three variants. The bookings for the SUV are underway and the deliveries will commence from October 15. The C3 Aircross comes after C5 Aircross, C3 and ëC3. The C3 Aircross is based on the same CMP modular platform which underpins C3 and ëC3.

In terms of design, the C3 Aircross takes inspiration from the C3. The logo has been integrated into the front grille. It gets a two-layer design replete with chrome and piano black inserts. Similar to the C3 it gets Y-Shaped LED DRLs with the headlamps below. It gets bigger air vents surrounded by round fog lamps. At the back, the C3 Aircross has a large tailgate with square taillamps. The Citroen C3 Aircross is offered in three variants – You, Plus and Max. The company has only announced the prices of the base You variants. The prices for the Mid plus trim are expected to start from Rs 11.5 lakh and the price for the top-of-the-line Max variant is expected to start from 12.5 lakh (all prices Ex-showroom).
The Hyundai Creta is offered in six variants – E, EX, S, S+, SX and SX (O). The price for the Hyundai Creta starts from Rs 10.9 lakh and goes up to 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The Citroen C3 Aircross will be available in both 5 and 7-seat configurations whereas the Creta only gets a 5-seat configuration.

In terms of features, the C3 Aircross gets a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, LED DRLs, reverse camera, 17-inch alloy wheels, drive modes, second and third-row AC vents, rear wipers, defoggers and more. Safety features include two airbags, ABS, EAC, hill-hold assist, TPMS and reverse parking sensors.

The Creta comes loaded with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital cluster, LED headlamps with DRLs, ventilated seats, electric parking brake, Bose speakers, panoramic sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, cooled glove box, automatic climate control, blue link connected car tech, wireless phone charger, air purifier and more. Safety features include six airbags, rear disc brakes, hill hold assist, ABS, EBS and TCS.

The Hyundai Creta is offered in two engine options – a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine which puts out 115 hp of power and 250 Nm torque. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AT. Another engine is the 1.5-litre, NA petrol engine which puts out 113 hp of power and 144 Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a CVT or a 6-speed manual.

Citroen is offering the C3 Aircross with a single-engine option. The C3 Aircross will be powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cyl, turbocharged petrol engine which produces 110 hp of power and 170 Nm of torque. Gearbox options include only a 6-speed manual. The same engine and gearbox also do the duty in the C3 hatchback.
