E!: Do you have a go-to game day pump up song?
KW: I am a country girl through and through. So mine is “Man! I Feel like a Woman!” by Shania Twain. Whoever is on the speaker in the locker room, I make them play it at least once before the game starts.
E!: The DCC training camp makeovers are iconic. Do you have any beauty regrets from your pre-training camp days that you wish you could redo?
KW: When I was in college, I had very blonde hair! I don’t regret it, but it definitely wasn’t my color. About 5 months before I auditioned for DCC, I decided to dye my hair from bright blonde to dark brown. Thank goodness it ended up being a success!
E!: The DCC boots are a legendary part of the uniform. Do you have any hacks to alleviate discomfort during game days?
KW: We all have very different routines to protect our feet on game days! I would have my trainer wrap my ankles to give me more support on the turf. Then, I would wear two pairs of socks (one regular and one fuzzy pair) on top!
To be honest, nothing you do can completely relieve the soreness of standing on your feet for four to five hours. But, they are so beautiful, so they’re worth every bit of discomfort! We just prioritize recovery after the game.
