The Anant-Ambani and Radhika Merchant pre-wedding in Italy was a grand spectacle both in terms of celebrations and fashion. Shloka Mehta Ambani, the daughter-in-law of Nita and Mukesh Ambani swept us off our feet, yet again, with her exquisite fashion choices. From the beautiful mermaid gown, 3D flowers, to Vincent Van Gogh’s painting inspired dress definitely made us stop and stare.

All of Shloka’s outfits for the second pre-wedding have been made with attention to minutest of detail. One that truly stole the limelight was Van Gogh’s painting inspired dress. Shloka wore a ‘Starry Night’ mini dress for one of the after parties on the cruise.

Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’ is one of the most common pop-culture presence. This is an oil-on-canvas painting by the post-impressionist artist. It was made in around 1889. A classic piece of expressionism, the painting is said to depict the dynamic between man and nature. But impressions and expression may be subjective just like how Shloka’s attire was reimagined with sequins. She looked elegant in custom Ashish dress for one of the after parties, reportedly.
There are several immersive art experience based on Van Gogh’s works and starry night being most popular one.
In an interview, Shloka’s stylist Diya Mehta Jatia mentioned how the highlight of her wardrobe was a vintage Chanel haute couture halter-neck suit by Karl Lagerfeld from the 1990s.

For an after-part post the masquerade ball, Shloka Ambani donned a stunning crystal embellished mini dress by Sabina Bilenko. Jatia also mentioned how the dress was made in two-days with couture techniques.

For the iconic toga party, Shloka opted for a vintage golden Chanel dress.
As the pre-wedding cruise was set against the romantic and ancient backdrop of Rome, why not do as the Roman did! Toga was a long garment that was worn in the ancient Roman culture. It was long, lose cloth that looked like a tunic or robe.
With every look, Shloka took her fashion game up a notch. She looked mesmerising in a cloud-like custom Yara shoemaker outfit embellished with 3D lavender blossoms.
Another gorgeous outfit was the custom Versace mermaid gown. The inspiration was, reportedly, taken from Gigi Hadid’s mermaid gown.
Jatia reveled in her interviews that Shloka deserves all the credit to take a step out of her comfort-zone when it came to fashion. Mood boards were designed while deciding ensemble for the pre-wedding cruise.
