Stella McCartney has unveiled its summer campaign and picked a very recognisable face to front the imagery with Cara Delevingne starring.
The company said she’s wearing “the brand’s most sustainable collection to date – crafted from 95% conscious materials” so the model-turned-actor and eco-activist looks like a good choice.
McCartney said Delevingne was picked specifically “for her eco-activist credentials” — she’s a trustee of EcoResolution and founder of Initiative Earth, a charity supporting everything from ecosystem restoration to education resources.
She’s also joined by “environmental activists, storytellers and female founders” Arizona Muse and Alice Aedy.
Interestingly, it was shot at the Veolia recycling plant in South London and “platforms the beauty that can be found in waste, hopes for a more circular future and the sustainable solutions being advanced by Stella”.
Meanwhile, after announcing Irish actor Cillian Murphy as the new male face of Versace Icons last month, the luxury Italian label has now unveiled his first campaign, which also stars Anne Hathaway, who’s “continuing as the Versace Icons woman”.
The Icons collection is all about “inventive, exquisitely made clothes that fit into people’s real life and everyday needs,” we’re told.
What that means in practice is instantly recognisable Versace styles from tailoring to denim, outerwear, daywear, dress, bags and shoes.
The campaign from photographers Mert & Marcus continues the “clean yet expressive attitude of the collection. The portrait series sees Anne Hathaway and Cillian Murphy unafraid to be their true selves and to show different sides of their iconic personalities through wearing pieces from the collection”.
