In a latest related development, the company’s augmented reality (AR) device, Apple Vision Pro has been used in one of the surgical centres of Pristyn Care in the national capital, for a live bariatric surgery. It is for the first time that the device has been used for something like this and it lasted for 40 minutes, on a 45-year-old patient weighing 155 KG. As mentioned earlier, AR device Apple Vision Pro has been used in a live bariatric surgery for the first time ever. The procedure was performed by Dr Mohit Bhandari and it included a sleeve gastric bypass and a Single Anastomosis Duodenal-Ileal (SADI) procedure. The surgery was carried out on May 17, on a 45-year-old patient whose weight was 155 kg and lasted for 40 minutes; he was suffering from obstructive sleep apnea and high blood pressure.

Dr Mohit Bhandari was quoted in an NDTV report as saying, “The successful use of Apple Vision Pro in these complex procedures opens up new possibilities in surgical precision and patient outcomes. We are proud to lead the way in integrating advanced AR technology into medical practice.”
