Delivering Good Honors Abbey Doneger, Joyce Brown and John Pomerantz, Among Others at Annual Fundraiser

Delivering Good succeeded in raising $1.5 million at its annual fundraiser Tuesday night at Gotham Hall in New York.

Nearly 500 guests attended this year’s fundraiser, which provides people impacted by poverty and tragedy with new merchandise donated by retailers and manufacturers.

Abbey Doneger, president and CEO of Doneger Group, received the Lifetime Achievement Award, which was presented by his son Adam Doneger, executive vice chair of U.S. Capital Markets at Newmark.

Abbey Doneger shared highlights of working in the world of fashion buying and trend forecasting, including the honor he had to work alongside his late father, Henry. He recalled being a senior at the University of Massachusetts and having no idea what he would do for a living. He asked his father if he could join his buying office company. “Well, here we are a mere 51-plus years later. It seems to have worked out OK, although I clearly don’t know where the 51 years have gone.”

The event also honored John Pomerantz, former president, chief executive officer and retired chairman of the Leslie Fay Cos. with its Inaugural Luminary Award; Prashant Agrawal, founder and CEO of tech giant Impact Analytics, with the Innovation Award; Brieane Olson, CEO of PacSun, with the Impact Award, and Joyce Brown, president of the Fashion Institute of Technology, with the Vanguard Award.
