Lucknow: Following the cancellation of the Uttar Pradesh Police constable exams over the paper leak, an aspirant committed suicide in Firozabad city. A woman has committed suicide in Firozabad city of Uttar Pradesh after she got allegedly depressed over the cancellation of police recruitment exams.

According to the news agency IANS report, the victim’s (Varsha) family members claimed that she committed suicide after the police recruitment examinations were cancelled following paper leaks. Varsha, a student who had also been a NCC cadet, was preparing for the Uttar Pradesh Police recruitment exam.

Suicide Note Reveals These Details

Prashant Kumar, Varsha’s brother, said she was also preparing for the SSC exam for a government job. During the investigation, police also recovered a suicide note in which she mentioned her failure to secure a government job.

Earlier in February, the UP Constable Civil Police Direct Recruitment Examination 2023, conducted on February 17 and 18 at 2,385 centres across all 75 districts of the state was cancelled. The Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Saturday made a significant announcement stating that the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination-2023 has been cancelled after paper leak reports surfaced. In response, directives have been issued to organize a re-examination within the next six months.
