False tabs: At 3:52 a.m., deputies stopped a motorist at Prospect Road and Lawrence Expressway for expired registration. An investigation revealed a fraudulent registration tab was affixed to the rear license plate of the vehicle. The suspect was cited and released.
False report of a bomb, hate crime: At 2:52 p.m., deputies responded to a bomb threat emailed to the FBI by someone claiming bombs were placed at Congregation Beth David Synagogue on Prospect Road. K9 units were utilized to search the property, and no suspicious devices were located.

Mail theft, reckless evading: At 4:37 a.m., deputies responded to a report of an in-progress mail theft from a multi-unit mailbox bank at The Vineyards of Saratoga on Vineyard Lane. Deputies located the suspects attempting to break into another multi-unit mailbox in the complex, but the suspects quickly fled the scene by vehicle. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not yield and recklessly evaded, and the pursuit was ultimately terminated.

Residential burglary: Between 12:49 p.m. and 1:03 p.m., someone entered a residence in the 20000 block of Bonnie Brae Way by prying a door open and stole eyeglasses and jewelry of unknown value.
Oct. 13
Grand theft: Between 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m., the victim went for a walk and was approached by a vehicle in the 13000 block of Pierce Road. The suspect exited the vehicle, approached the victim and placed fake jewelry on the victim while removing the victim’s gold necklace for a total loss valued at approximately $5,000.
