If you’re desperate for “thicker hair” but nothing seems to be working, a dermatologist revealed her secret weapon.
Dr Neera, who shares her expertise on TikTok under the handle @dermatologysurgeon, confessed she experienced hair loss herself.
But she swears by a four-minute trick which significantly helped her regain her locks. Now she “refuses to gatekeep” her method.
She admitted she’s still on her “hair growth journey”, but shared “three hair growth secrets” that could help thicken and strengthen your hair.
The first tip is a simple daily routine that can yield results.
She advised you should “massage your scalp for four minutes a day for thicker hair” using a scalp massaging tool of your choice. But why does this work?
The Wimpole Clinic explained: “Scalp massage works by increasing blood flow to your follicles. Massaging your scalp can also stretch the cells of the hair follicles, which stimulates them to produce thicker, stronger hair.”
Healthline also stated: “Researchers reported that hair regrowth was ‘significantly improved’ among those who underwent scalp massages compared to the control group.
“According to a small 2016 study, researchers concluded that regular scalp massages may lead to thicker hair.”
Dr Neera’s subsequent advice was to “use Nizoral shampoo at least two times a week to reduce hair fall and hair loss”.
One commenter mentioned: “I looked on Amazon for Nizarol and it’s all anti-dandruff shampoo,” prompting Dr Neera to clarify: “Yes. But it contains ketoconazole which has been shown in studies to help with hair shedding and hair loss.”
She also advised incorporating a laser comb into one’s routine to “stimulate new hair growth”, despite some expressing scepticism about the cost.
Others defended the laser comb, citing its use of “red light therapy which actually works”. Dr Neera suggested using it “two times a week”.
