Desperate search for NSW man Craig Wheatley missing for a week in Central Coast bushland

An extensive multi-agency search is underway for a NSW man missing in bushland for a week, after his vehicle was found abandoned earlier this week.

Craig Wheatley, 48, was last seen at a licensed venue in Doyalson — on the Central Coast — about 3am on Friday.

NSW Police began looking for him when he could not be located the next day.

His vehicle was then found on a track off Georges Rd in the Watagan State Forest about 8pm on Tuesday.

A search is currently underway involving police helicopters and the dog squad, as well as other agencies.

There are serious concerns for the man as his family say his disappearance is out of character.

Wheatley is Caucasian and about 190cm tall, with grey hair and a grey beard. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black shorts.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward, particularly if they saw his vehicle in the area at any point.
