Kawhi Leonard, who currently plays for the Los Angeles Clippers, nearly was unrecognizable in photos taken while attending a boxing match in Las Vegas between Gervonta Davis and Frank Martin at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday.

Leonard, who has sported cornrows for the majority of his career, looked to have switched up his look and ditched the braids for a clean-cut shorter hairstyle. Leonard also trimmed down his facial hair to match.

The change got social media buzzing, with several fans in shock over the drastic change.

“I refuse to believe that’s Kawhi,” one user posted with a recent gif of Leonard’s teammate James Harden in shock.

“This is not Kawhi bro. I don’t recognize him,” another commented.

One commenter joked “Looks like some random actor they would’ve had play Kawhi Leonard in ‘Clipped,’” referring to the current TV show about the troubled franchise.

Others got thinking that the 32-year-old small forward was getting ready to hang up his sneakers.

“Kawhi looking like he’s done with basketball,” a commenter wrote.

“Yeah he looks like he in his ‘retired uncle’ era,” another user joked.

However, Joey Linn of Sports Illustrated quickly set the record straight, sharing a different snap of Leonard from the event.

The two-time NBA champion did clean his hair a bit, but it’s still long and simply was pulled back into what looked like a bun.

One user on X pointed out that a similar hoopla over the hoopster’s hair happened a few years ago. The user posted a shot of Leonard at the gym and pointed out that he usually switches up his hairdo a bit in the off-season.

So it looks like the only real off-season buzz for the Clippers will be how to get the team’s roster up to standard in a very tough Western Conference.
