In addition to bold fashion capsules unveiled in September, the current season has also been marked by rather unique shoe collaborations, such as the new leopard pair co-signed by Ganni and New Balance unveiled during Paris Fashion Week; sneakers by Dior and Lewis Hamilton; unisex sneakers by Stella McCartney and Adidas, and Jimmy Choo’s dive into pop culture with the Japanese manga heroine Sailor Moon.

Jimmy Choo X Sailor Moon

Heading towards “kawaii”. This autumn, the house of Jimmy Choo brings to the forefront pop culture icon and super-heroine Sailor Moon from the eponymous manga series drawn by Japanese manga artist Naoko Takeuchi.

Characters from the manga Pretty Guardian Sailor Moonwhich celebrated its 30th anniversary last year – are immortalized on several luxury brand accessories, such as a canvas sneaker and the “Diamond Tote” bag, featuring a rainbow all-over print of the protagonist. While green velvet pumps are adorned with a few sparkling rhinestones, the black derbies and the elegant “Luna-P Ball” minaudière (a favorite accessory of the young warrior Chibiusa, Sailor Moon’s daughter) are entirely embellished with crystals. The campaign – with a slightly magical touch – announcing this collaboration is crafted by Yoshirotten of the Tokyo-based design studio YAR. This feminine capsule, with prices ranging from 250 to 5,700 euros, has been launched globally in the brand’s boutiques and on its website.

Dior X Lewis Hamilton

British racing driver Lewis Hamilton, as a guest designer, signed a capsule of footwear and lifestyle (inspired by the world of winter sports) for the luxury Parisian brand Dior. On the shoe menu: a new silhouette for the “B44 Blade” sneaker.

It’s back to the early 2000s! The Formula 1 champion and Dior ambassador, in collab with the brand’s artistic director of men’s collections, Kim Jones, dressed these sneakers with an ultra-modern retro-futuristic touch and decidedly pop colors. This pair of running sneakers, available in mandarin, sea green, navy blue, and mauve, combines creativity and technicality, with its XXL white and black sole. Currently on pre-order, the “B44 Blade” sneaker (a nod to Lewis Hamilton’s car number) is sold numbered and in a very limited series at the price of 1,200 euros, moreover, it is equipped with an NFC chip allowing to obtain its certificate of authenticity.

Stella McCartney X Adidas

It was also at Paris Fashion Week, a major unmissable fashion event in the capital, that the house Stella McCartney unveiled its collab with the equipment manufacturer Adidas: a vintage-looking sportswear collab.

Made from vegan materials, the “Rasant” pair creatively explores the world of rally and racing with its high silhouette and maxi laces – inspired by the German Adidas “Monza” model worn in the eighties by race car drivers Mario Andretti and Michèle Mouton. It also pays a vibrant tribute to the beginnings of English designer Stella McCartney in 2001, when she enhanced it in her first collections. Pre-ordered during October, this unisex sneaker with an androgynous look, available in gray, white, and black, will be available next January in stores.

Clarks X Martine Rose

Self-taught but ultra-creative, Martine Rose signs a second striking collection as a guest artistic director of Clarks. This one, designed for fall-winter 2024, is called “Coming Up Roses”.

On the menu of this retro capsule: pairs combining quirky style and comfort, such as quilted lilac pumps, textured lizard-skin effect loafers with orange heel, the “The Clog” clog opts for a more sporty version and the famous “Torhill” model is dressed in vintage-look crocodile-effect leather. The “Clarks X Martine Rose” capsule is sold in the brand’s stores and on its online site, ranging from 180 to 290 euros. The campaign, with a decidedly psychedelic tone, was shot during a tree-climbing session in the forests of Somerset (in the South-West of England).

A$AP Rocky X Puma

New York rapper A$AP Rocky reinvents racewear with the German equipment manufacturer Puma. A new collection of clothing and shoes with a “dirty” aesthetic inspired by motorsports.

This fall, the Puma brand unveils a highly conceptual collab with the American rap superstar. For this capsule, A$AP Rocky has imagined a pair with an astonishing design: named “Mostro 3D”, this pair available in black and red with a fierce and deliberately “monstrous” look was made of 3D printed resin. Marketed at 250 euros, in a limited edition (on its website and in certain boutiques), it is accompanied by two “Inhale” sneakers with a worn effect (130 euros), a tagged quilted balaclava, and denim shorts and white polo shirt with logos.

K-Swiss X McLaren

The American brand K-Swiss, immersed in the sports universe, presents its new collaboration with the F1 team McLaren – with whom it signed a long-term partnership in 2022.

This sneaker pair, named “Aero Active X McLaren,” was presented during the prestigious Singapore Grand Prix at the end of September, where the British team drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri took the first and third podium places during this night race. Available in 5 neon colorways – including white and red or black and “papaya” orange, the team’s historic color – this collab for Formula 1 fans is “inspired by the electrifying energy of night races.” It is available in a limited edition at the price of 140 euros on the K-Swiss brand site.
